Happy Thanksgiving

There are many things to be thankful for this year.

While I've been going through a rough time, I'm thankful that it's been made a bit easier with unemployment insurance. A few years ago, I had just finished grad school when the economy collapsed. I went without a job for seven months and had no unemployment to get me through that time. So yay for government handouts!

I'm thankful for my friends...ALL of them. Even those who out of stubbornness or whatever came over them said they wished we weren't friends. I'm thankful for the friends who talked me through that mess. I'm sure you all think I'm a sucker for still being thankful for that one friendship, but it made me a more caring and understanding person. I helped someone, and I am thankful for that and I know she is too, even if she's too stubborn to admit it right now. I'm thankful for every friend I've met along the way. Through all the good and bad jobs I've had, I wouldn't go back and change anything because each turn I've taken has brought me friends that I couldn't do without in my life.

I'm thankful for my family. Even though we all drive each other crazy, we're family.

I don't know how I forgot to be thankful for my dog, Buffy! I've had her since she was two months old and she will be turning 12 (!) at the beginning of December. She's going through a hard time right now, but she's still smiling and enjoying our company even though she's confused by not being able to see.
